Privacy NoticeRylan Clark has ‘hit back’ at critics who have given his new show, Dating Naked, one star reviews, as well as branding it ‘disgraceful’. The This Morning star is fronting the UK version of the show, which has already been a hit in the US and Germany. The ‘daring’ show sees singles living and trying to find love in a tropical paradise, completely nude. However, critics in the UK have been less than impressed with the show, with some branding it ‘attention seeking’ and ‘joyless’. Rylan himself has seen the reviews circulating around the internet as he’s now ‘hit back’. Taking to the This Morning sofa alongside Joel Dommett and Rochelle Humes this Friday, the former X-Factor star wasn’t holding back in his response to critics.

Explaining the concept of the ‘brand new’ show to the presenting duo, Rylan said: “It is Love Island without the bikinis, that’s pretty much what it is, you see everything, there’s no strategic placement of the cameras. You see absolutely everything.” “And all the reviews today from the same reviewers that give me five stars for my art show on BBC Two are like ‘This is disgraceful’. You know ‘I don’t need to see this’ – but that’s exactly what the show is, and its dating laid bare,” the star laughed. The concept first launched in the US in 2014, before it was cancelled after three seasons. A German version of the show launched last year, with the UK now adding to the franchise.

It looks like Rylan may have another role on his hands, as it seems like the former Celebrity Big Brother winner is the ‘bookies favourite’ to replace Jermaine Jenas in his role on The One Show, as betting site betideas.com has Rylan pegged at 9/2 to nab a permanent place on the show. In light of the developments, Lee Astley from betideas.com commented, “The news of Jermaine Jenas’ sacking from The One Show on BBC has kickstarted the rumour mill on who will replace him as a permanent host, with Rylan Clark a solid chance in the betting,” reports the Mirror. “Rylan, a man well-versed in the world of television presenting with stints on ITV’s This Morning and the Eurovision Song Contest, has been given odds of 9/2 to assume the vacancy left by Jermaine as a presenter on BBC’s hit chat show.” Gethin Jones and Tom Daley are also in the ‘bookies running’ to take over the former footballer’s role.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
