Privacy NoticeTV presenter Ruth Langsford has returned to daytime chat show Loose Women for the first time since she took a break following the announcement of her split from husband Eamonn Holmes. Ruth has been away from the show for two months, but the 64 year old has decided the time is right to return to the popular series. On Monday 22 July’s episode of Loose Women, Ruth hosted the show with Brenda Edwards, Coleen Nolan and Janet Street Porter. As the show began, Coleen halted it to express her delight that Ruth was back, as the audience cheered. She turned to Ruth after her two-month break and said: “Wait, wait, wait, before you carry on can I just say, I’m so, so happy that you’re back.” Janet replied “Thank god!” as Ruth commented that “I won’t do it again,” and added it was “very nice to be back with you all,” while looking thrilled to be there. Eamonn Holmes thanks followers for support as he shares unexpected change at work
Before the show began, Ruth teased her return on her Instagram stories, showing a video of the hallway at the studio. She trained the camera over the Loose Women sign on the wall and then moved to the ‘Let’s get loose!’ neon sign. She captioned the post: “Back on the Loose! Hope you can join us!” The Loose Women Instagram page also shared photos of Ruth hugging Coleen before the show went on air. Ruth and Eamonn confirmed they had separated in May this year, after 14 years of marriage. At the time, a spokesperson announced: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.” While Ruth has kept a relatively low profile since the announcement, Eamonn has been a regular fixture on GB News, where he has his own weekday show. On Sunday 21 July, he made an unexpected weekend appearance, working on Sunday’s breakfast show with regular host Anne Diamond. Fans noticed Eamonn was still wearing his wedding ring.

Eamonn recently told the Daily Mirror about his split, sharing: “I’m not OK. This is not a good time at all,” when asked about his marriage split and his health issues, which includes a battle with chronic back pain. When questioned about the future of his relationship with Ruth, Eamonn said: “It’s too early to say, but I hope we can still be friends.” An insider told the Daily Star on Sunday 22 July that Ruth was ready to return to the Loose Women but for fans not to expect her to discuss her marriage: “It has been a tough few weeks but now she feels it is time for her to get back to Loose Women. It is a job she loves doing and even though the split has been very tough, life must go on. Just don’t expect any big news or revelations about the divorce, she wants to keep that private.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
