Privacy NoticeKate Middleton, the Princess Of Wales, has reportedly left her Windsor home for the first time since she returned there following her abdominal surgery. The 42-year-old royal is said to be “recovering well” with family by her side. After undergoing surgery in The London Clinic, Kate spent 13 days in hospital before returning home to Adelaide Cottage on 13 January. In a sign she’s starting to feel better again, Kate has reportedly headed to Sandringham Estate, in Norfolk, with her family, Prince William and children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, for half term. The source told Mail Online: “Catherine is recovering well. She was looking forward to a change of scene and will be able to take it easy in Norfolk while the children let off steam with William.”

While Kate focused on recovery, Prince William took a break from royal duties to take care of her and their children. But in another sign Kate is regaining strength, William returned to official duties this week by conducting an investiture at Windsor Castle and attended a fundraiser for the London Air Ambulance. At the event he thanked the public for their “kind messages of support” for the health difficulties his father, King Charles and his wife are experiencing. He said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you, also, for the kind messages of support for Catherine and for my father, especially in recent days. “It means a great deal to us all.” Kate’s surgery comes as Charles was also treated in hospital and later revealed his cancer diagnosis.

The monarch was being treated in hospital for benign prostate enlargement when doctors spotted another health problem that turned out to be cancer. Buckingham Palace has not specified what kind of cancer the monarch has, however, they have said it is not prostate cancer. Whilst Charles is undergoing treatment, he will be pausing “public-facing duties” on the advice of his medical team Queen Camilla will continue to represent the Royal Family at engagements.

Camilla has said Charles is doing “extremely well under the circumstances” after his cancer diagnosis, as she celebrated the work of charities at Salisbury Cathedral.
