Privacy NoticeRoman Kemp had to abruptly interrupt The One Show’s lively banter on Wednesday (July 24) to deliver a pressing message to viewers tuning in. While chatting with Alex Jones and their hilariously witty guest Russell Howard, who was there to spill the beans on his podcast Wonderboxa show where celebs gush about the keepsakes they can’t live withoutRussell recounted one particularly side-splitting tale. Sharing a chuckle, he revealed: “One of my favourites was the comedian Guz Khan. His was butter. He really likes butter because when he was a kid, he only ever had margarine and his neighbours had butter so he broke into their house and was caught eating butter by his neighbours. So it reminded him of that urge to steal.” Alex, intrigued, pressed: “Does he eat it on its own?” And Russell clarified the comical scenario: “He was caught eating butter on its own. Behind a sofa, like a cat that had lost it.”

It was at this moment Roman jumped in to issue an impromptreatedibly important advisory, pausing the chatter to earnestly caution viewers. Giving the camera a serious gaze, he issued the warning: “And we should add, please do not break into anyone’s home and eat their butter! ” to which Alex was quick to concur: “Definitely! “, reports the Mirror. Kicking off Russell’s segment, the programme had flashed back to an old photo of him, prompting a storm of jests among the trio. Alex playfully quipped calling young Russell “super cute” while he himself teased: “I look like Harry Potter’s German penpal.” But Alex couldn’t resist teasing, saying: “You just look like somebody dressed as Russell Howard for World Book Day.”

As Roman probed about Russell’s childhood reading habits, the funnyman reminisced: “Oh, I loved it. Yeah.” He fondly recalled, “That feeling when you’re about seven and you can read in your own head? I remember that excitement I couldn’t quite believe the words were going in my head.” Russell then dived into the origins of his podcast concept, explaining: “It comes from a German tradition where basically German families have a Wonderbox and it’s full of trinkets. It might be like [jewellery] and you get to tell your grandchildren [about it]. That’s the premise of it. I thought it’d be a really cool idea.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
