Privacy NoticeRichard Madeley has admitted he’s ‘tired’ and he might not have time to write another book until his Good Morning Britain (GMB) stint ends. The famed TV presenter has been a regular face on our screens co-presenting GMB alongside Susanna Reid since 2017, but has recently admitted that the show has been getting in the way of his writing career. Speaking on the Dr Hilary Podcast, the 68-year-old said: “I’ve just published my fourth novel and, actually, I found it very difficult to complete that one. “(With) all the others, I delivered on deadline to my publicist, but the last one I was several years behind deadline, and that’s because of Good Morning Britain. “All of the others I had written before I had really started filling in for Piers Morgan, before he left Good Morning Britain.” Despite initially thinking that it would be ‘simple’ to find the balance between his presenting and writing life, he found himself drained of ‘energy’.

The morning television stalwart added: “You can wash the car and go shopping, but to sit down and actually think creatively about the next chapter of the book, I found very difficult, I was mentally just too tired.” Richard admitted that he actually found most of the time to write his new book while preparing for another ITV show, I’m A Celebrity. He said: “I found that GMB crowded out my novel writing, in fact I got most of the book written, maybe up to half of it written, when I was in quarantine (for I’m A Celebrity). “I need to be calm and quiet and rested in order to write, so I haven’t taken on a commission for another book just yet. “If I do write another one, I think it will be when I finish doing GMB.” Despite his recent comments there has been no hint that the broadcaster plans to leave his role on GMB.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
