Privacy Notice Good Morning Britain’s Richard Madeley has a few things to say about the latest in Strictly Come Dancing, especially when it comes to the predicament surrounding Graziano Di Prima. Today’s episode of the ITV morning show saw Richard and co-host Charlotte Hawkins getting into the nitty-gritty of these scandalous allegations. Graziano Di Prima is said to be missing from this year’s line-up due to claims of “misconduct”. In touching upon this hot topic, Richard stated that he happens to know many individuals who work on the popular BBC dance show, and according to him, this incident is not quite as shocking as it may appear. Richard quotes former Strictly contestant Richard Coles saying: “No one is surprised about the allegations that have been made about the treatment of contestants on the hit BBC show.” Richard further claimed that those he knows connected with the show had heard whispers of such issues for a long time, alleging that they were simply swept under the carpet until now. He said: “I have to say that people I know involved in that programme all talk about these issues and they say that they have all known about them for years and years and years but the lid has been kept on it but now the lid is coming off,” reports the Express. TV star Zara McDermott, 27, opened up about her challenging times during training with dance partner Graziano, 30, and shared a heartfelt statement on social media.

She expressed that watching videos of “particular incidents” is “incredibly distressing” and admitted she held back from speaking out earlier due to fears of “public backlash” and “victim shaming”. On her Instagram story, she began: “I felt it was right that I post something regarding the recent media reports. Strictly is one of the most magical shows on TV and one that I dreamt of being on since I was a little girl”. She continued: “I fully understood the level of commitment and hard work that Strictly was going to be and I dedicated everything to it. I am a resilient person and I was fully prepared to put in whatever it took.”

Zara then reflected on her journey: “And so much of my Strictly experience was everything I could have dreamt of. The entire production team and everyone behind the scenes as well as my fellow contestants were so amazing to work with.” Addressing the darker side of her experience, she revealed: “However, my experience inside the training room was very different. Reports have been made about my treatment on the show and there were witnesses to some events, as well as videos of particular incidents which are incredibly distressing to watch.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
