Privacy NoticeVicki Gunvalson, known for appearing on the Real Housewives of Orange County star, has revealed that she was rushed to hospital earlier this month with a ‘deadly’ sepsis infection. Alongside the infection, she experienced symptoms usually synonymous with a stroke and some memory loss – wit her boyfriend Michael Smith taking her to hospital after finding her unconscious. The reality star got emotional as she detailed the scary experience on her podcast, My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast. She began: “There’s a lot of hours missing in my life because I got amnesia/semi-stroke.” After suffering some memory loss, Vicki originally went to the hospital and was misdiagnosed and discharged with a sinus infection.

Vicki emotionally opened up about the ordeal on her podcast

With her partner Michael also on the podcast, he took over explaining and shared: “One of the scariest things for me was when I walked in, for some reason, Vicki decided she wanted to take a bath, so she’s in the bathtub with water and I walk in and she’s pretty much passed out. I grabbed her, that was scary, and I grabbed her, pulled her out of the water, put her in bed.’ After Vicki slept for over 13 hours, Michael worried that she was having a stroke, explaining that she was unable to walk to the bathroom properly and was ‘so discombobulated’. Returning to the hospital a second time as the symptoms worsened, doctors discovered that Vicki had sepsis and pneumonia – with the work her body was doing to fight the infection causing the strange symptoms.

Vicki’s partner Michael found her unconscious in the barh

She was then told by a neurologist that she had a 10-20% chance of survival because of the ‘deadly’ infection – leaving both Vicki and her partner terrified. However, the neurologist has assured Vicki that she will be ok after surviving the deadly infection, but it won’t be an overnight recovery. Vicki is now safe and sound back home and is resting up, admitting her energy levels are still low. She was given steroids and antibiotics to fight the infection but is still suffering from memory loss. As she shared a clip from the podcast to Instagram, Vicki’s followers rushed to support her. One wrote: “Oh NO!!! I’m so very sorry to hear this. God pulled you through. You’re a fighter. You got this”. While The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Meyer also sent her love, commenting: “so sorry to hear your were that ill. Sepsis is serious. Prayers for a speedy recovery “Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK! MagazineFacebookTwitterCommentMore OnReal Housewives
