Privacy Notice Prince Harry is set to jet off to New York next month for a series of important engagements, flying solo without Meghan Markle by his side. An insider revealed that Meghan has decided to step back this time, allowing Harry to focus on the causes closest to his heart. “The trip will support Harry’s work with his patronages,” the source disclosed. Another insider pointed out, “Meghan doesn’t have to attend every event with her husband. If she skips an event, it doesn’t mean there is anything wrong between them. She’s happy for him [Harry] to take this one on his own to shine a light on what really matters to him.”

A representative for Prince Harry confirmed that he will be visiting New York City during the significant UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week. These notable events see Climate Week starting on September 22 and continuing until September 29, while High-level Week takes place from September 23 to September 27. According to the announcement, 39 year old Harry will be in New York to “advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives.” His schedule in the city includes participating in engagements with African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst,” added the spokesperson. The Diana Awards also shared news that he will be present at an event celebrating the charity’s 25th anniversary. Harry will also “be furthering the work of The Archewell Foundation, the non-profit organisation he co-founded with his wife Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.

“His trip coincides with another major event in the city, the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, scheduled for September 24. However, it has since been revealed that Prince William and Prince Harry won’t be meeting in New York in September as the Prince of Wales has other commitments and won’t be flying to the United States for the summit. Prince William launched the prestigious Earthshot Prize back in 2020, with the noble goal of driving forward innovative and lasting solutions to the world’s most critical environmental challenges, such as conservation efforts, deforestation, and the climate crisis. The Prince is set to award £1 million in prizes across five categories annually until 2030 as part of this ambitious initiative. Speaking back in 2021 before the release of the book ‘Earthshot: How To Save Our Planet’ Jason Knauf, former CEO of The Royal Foundation said of the Prince: “The challenge The Duke set himself was ‘What is the maximum positive personal contribution I can make in the next ten years in the fight against climate change?

“What am I going to do in the next decade that means I can look my children in the eye and say that I did my bit? Every aspect of the Prize bears the stamp of his contribution.” William later said: “The challenge facing our planet is immense. We were about to enter what scientists say is the most consequential decade in history. We have cleared too many trees, burnt too much fossil fuel, and produced too much waste. The damage we are doing is no longer incremental but exponential, and we are fast reaching a tipping point.”
