Brian, who hails from Hampton Hill, Middlesex, co-founded Queen in 1970 alongside drummer Roger Taylor and bassist John Deacon, with Freddie Mercury joining as the lead vocalist. The band enjoyed huge success across the world, with many of their songs still be hugely popular today. Brian penned several tracks for Queen and later launched a solo career. He released two solo albums – Back to the Light and Another World – in the 1990s. Away from music, Brian studied physics and mathematics at Imperial College London, graduating with a BSc (Hons) degree and ARCS in physics. From 1970 to 1974, he also studied for a PhD degree at Imperial College, but he abandoned his studies when Queen began to find fame. Brian eventually finished his PhD, submitting his thesis in 2007. He graduated in May 2008.

Thanks to his hugely successful music career, combined with his various other projects, Brian is believed to be worth a whopping $260 million (£199m), according to Celebrity Net Worth. In 2019, he was said to be worth £160m, making it onto The Sunday Times Rich List. Brian’s wife is also a famous face many will recognise. He is married to actress Anita Dobson, who starred in EastEnders as Angie Watts in the 1980s. The couple met in 1986 and went on to marry in 2000, remaining together ever since. Anita inspired Brian to pen the 1989 hit track I Want It All. Prior to meeting Anita, Brian was married to Christine Mullen. The pair divorced in 1988. Brian and Christine are parents to three children; James, Louisa and Emily Ruth. Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
