Privacy NoticeQueen Camilla has certainly had her hands full with royal duties and family drama in 2024. From supporting King Charles and Kate Middleton during their brave cancer battles, to juggling a packed diary of royal engagements, it’s been busy for the 76 year old. But on Wednesday, 10 July, Camilla enjoyed a surprise visit to Wimbledon to catch the quarter-final action on Centre Court on day 10 of the 2024 championships. For the occasion, the Queen looked lovely in a cream linen dress adorned with large giraffe motifs by Anna Valentine, and a cute Jack Russell brooch from Van Cleef and Arpels.

Upon arriving at the championships, she met former player Laura Robson, who now works in international player relations. Interestingly, Camilla made a remark amid the Royal Family drama and confessed to Laura that it was “so nice to be able to escape for a day”. Meanwhile, she also took time to compliment head gardener Martyn Falconer, who has been tending to Wimbledon’s plants for 25 years. “It all looks fantastic. It always looks absolutely perfect,” she gushed, reports the Mirror. She even met another Camila – the daughter of Mexican doubles player Santiago Gonzalez. The Queen joked “fancy having two Camillas here” and asked if she would like a photo together, and even had a look at Camila’s Wimbledon pass by holding up her lanyard to read it.

Camilla was also seen engaging in a friendly chat with ball girl Natalia from Burntwood School in Wandsworth and ball boy Yug from Harris Academy Wimbledon. She asked them about their experiences and which courts they had been assigned to. The All England Club’s chairwoman, Deborah Jevans, introduced Camilla to the welcome line-up before she made her way to the Royal box on Centre Court. Among the familiar faces at the championships on Wednesday were Abba’s Bjorn Ulvaeus, actors Richard E Grant and Sir David Suchet, Keira Knightley and her husband James Righton, and Peter Phillips, the King’s nephew, who was accompanied by his new girlfriend Harriet Sperling.

Joined by her sister Annabel Elliot, Camilla watched former Wimbledon singles champion Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan take on Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina in the quarter-final. Unfortunately, the Queen missed Australia’s Alex De Minaur’s quarter-final match against Novak Djokovic due to De Minaur’s hip injury forcing him to withdraw. Camilla has been spotted in her giraffe dress before. She donned the outfit, adorned with large embroidered images of giraffes on the skirt, during an official tour to Kenya last November.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
