Privacy Notice Little Princess Charlotte is going the extra mile to care for her mum as she battles cancer. The Princess of Wales has been keeping a low profile this year while she undergoes chemotherapy for an unspecified type of cancer, leaving many Royal enthusiasts curious about how she and the family are coping. Behind closed doors, the children have been lending a hand whenever possible. Experts believe that Princess Charlotte, in particular, is doing everything within her power to support her mum. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond exclusively told OK! how Charlotte is taking care for her mother during this time.

“Each of the children is special in their own way: George, the adored first born, Charlotte the only girl, and Louis the baby of the family. But I think there is always a special bond between mother and daughter, and as Charlotte grows older and witnesses the shock of her mum being ill I’m sure that bond has become even closer.” Jennie continued to reveal that the nine year old princess is showing every sign of being exactly like her mother. She shared: “Charlotte is now of an age where she probably feels she can reverse the roles a little, and take care of her mother as she recovers. Charlotte certainly shows every sign of taking after Catherine in looks and her love of sport and the great outdoors. As time goes on, I’m sure they will become more than just mum and daughter but also great companions to one another….just like Catherine and her mother Carole.”

Princess Charlotte and Kate were by each other’s side at the Trooping the colour

During the Trooping the Colour parade, Princess Charlotte was spotted making an adorable gesture of support towards her mum. The Duchess of Cambridge’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, were seen alongside their mum at the Trooping the Colour event on June 15. Despite the rainy weather causing their carriage windows to steam up, the family made sure they could wave to their Royal fans. At one point, Kate – who is currently undergoing cancer treatment – stops wiping the window. However, her dutiful daughter continues and cleans the main window for them both.

But Charlotte’s attention wasn’t solely on the window as she also had to keep an eye on her cheeky little brother, Prince Louis. On several occasions, nine year old Charlotte would quickly check on Louis to ensure he was behaving himself. In a chat on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, Kate shared some insights into her own parenting style. She recalled: “I had an amazing Granny who devoted a lot of time to us-playing with us, doing arts and crafts, and going to the greenhouse to do gardening, and cooking with us-and I try and incorporate a lot of the experiences that she gave us at the time into the experiences that I give my children now.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
