Privacy NoticeThe Prince and Princess of Wales share many common interests, but there’s one hobby of Prince William’s that Kate absolutely dreads. Back in 2015, during a royal visit to Dundee, Scotland, the couple participated in a family fun day where Kate revealed her fear for William’s love of motorbiking. When asked if he still rides, she confessed: “He’s still riding it. It always fills me with horror when he goes out on it. I’m terrified. Hopefully, I’m going to keep George off it.” At that time, their eldest child, Prince George, was only two years old, and Princess Charlotte was just a few months old. It seems becoming a father significantly changed William’s perspective. Sign up to OK!’s royal newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

In 2018, after the birth of their third child, Prince Louis, William updated fans about his biking habits during a trip to the Isle of Man TT motorcycle races. He admitted: “I’m a dad of three. I have to tone it down. I miss the big trips, for me biking was always about being with everybody else.” The future King has often spoken about his passion for motorbikes, even riding one in London on the eve of his 2011 wedding. In 2008, he and his younger brother Prince Harry participated in a charity motorcycle rally across South Africa. The Prince of Wales is said to have treated himself to an e-scooter to get around the Windsor estate with ease. According to a source who spoke to The Sun, “It just makes sense. He whizzes up to the castle when he needs to see the King.” While e-scooters are not legal on public roads unless they’re part of a hire scheme, they can be used on private land, which is exactly what William does. “It’s a two or three-mile round trip from his family home at Adelaide Cottage to Windsor Castle so it’s easier by scooter than car or walking,” the insider explained. The Waleses made the move to Adelaide Cottage from Kensington Palace in 2022, taking their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, with them. The young royals now attend Lambrook School in Berkshire, having previously been at St Thomas’ in Battersea.

Despite its 2015 renovations, Adelaide Cottage is considered relatively modest for a royal residence, boasting just four bedrooms. Yet, William and Kate haven’t given up their other homes; they’ve kept Apartment 1a at Kensington Palace as their London base and Anmer Hall in Norfolk remains in their possession too. Royal expert Victoria Murphy revealed in 2022 that the relocation of Prince William and Kate was all about family, saying “the move, which a Palace source said has been driven by their desire to have as normal a family life as possible, allows William and Kate the opportunity to offer their children a more rural upbringing away from central London and the hustle and bustle of Kensington Palace, which is a popular tourist attraction”.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
