Privacy Notice After the passing of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in 2021, the Royal Family has felt the absence of a pivotal figure who once steered the monarchy with an iron hand. Prince William is now said to be stepping into his grandfather’s formidable shoes as the family faces challenging times, adopting Prince Philip’s firm approach in his interactions, particularly with his brother, Prince Harry. The late Queen Elizabeth II’s consort, Prince Philip, was not only known for his witty remarks and occasional gaffes but also for ensuring the royal household ran without a hitch, insisting on strict adherence to protocol.

Prince William is believed to be taking cues from his late grandfather in maintaining order within the Royal ranks. A source disclosed to the Daily Beast that Prince William, 42, has assumed the mantle of the family’s ‘disciplinarian’, stating: “There is a sense that William has stepped into the Prince Philip role. “Philip ruled the family with a rod of iron and you saw when he died that discipline collapsed. Now William is calling the shots when it comes to family discipline,” reports the Mirror.

The insider revealed that King Charles’ determined attitude directly affects his handling of the ongoing spat with Prince Harry. Even though King Charles would love to see more of his junior son, William remains firm in a revealing tactic that, according to the insider, shows ‘who’s calling the shots’. In the face of huge challenges faced by the senior royals, the future king has been resolute. His father, King Charles, is now managing some responsibilities while undergoing his cancer treatment, while Princess Kate, his wife, proceeds with preventative chemotherapy following her own diagnosis. The Royal Family will soon be readying themselves for their yearly trip to Balmoral, in the Scottish Highlands. The upcoming journey is predicted to be a particularly significant chance to reflect.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond previously toldOK! “It’s been one heck of a year for the Royal Family so far and nothing would please the King more than to have his close family gathered together in the peace of Balmoral for a time to take stock together, mark the passing of an incredibly difficult few months and look to the future.” She went on to say: “Like Catherine herself has said, cancer treatment brings with it a large measure of uncertainty and that must extend to whether she is able to spend part of the summer holidays at Balmoral. “If she does go, I’m sure the whole family will want to surround her with love, support and renewed strength. She, meanwhile, will want to make the summer months as fun and carefree for the children as she possibly can after everything she’s been through.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
