Privacy NoticePrince William returned to Royal duties after his summer break, but he hasn’t lost his holiday beard, which had people talking when he first revealed the facial growth a few weeks good. The Prince of Wales also looked like he had a healthy tan as he visited an art project created by former homeless in his first official trip out since the summer holidays. William and wife Kate’s Homewards project – a campaign which aims to develop a blueprint for eradicating homelessness in all its forms – is the force behind the art attraction which opened at the Saatchi Gallery in London in August.

The visit comes just days after William came face-to-face with his estranged brother, Harry. The pair both attended a service in memory of their late uncle Lord Fellowes, the husband of Princess Diana’s older sister Jane, in Norfolk last week. The brothers choose to stay apart from each other at the service, even when in the same room. William and Harry have not spoken for months and are believed to currently have no contact. Meanwhile, William’s facial hair caused a stir several weeks ago when he and Kate posted a video on their Instagram page congratulating Team GB for its performance at the Paris Olympics. Many viewers were left distracted by his stubble as they watched the video. However, he was spotted a few days later clean-shaven, so many believed the beard was gone and was only part of William’s summer down time.

That led to royal fans claiming that they were ‘in mourning’ for the new look, which had got the seal of approval from many. But today the beard was back as Willam visited the gallery. While there, William will meet some of the artists involved in the exhibition, including celebrity photographer Rankin, and chatted to some of the young people who helped create the artwork. Called Homelessness: Reframed, the exhibition features sculptures, photographs and everyday objects given a new life by artists, who may have experienced homelessness, telling their personal stories through their art.

Kensington Palace announced Willam’s engagement at the gallery several weeks ago. They also confirmed William will be heading to Wales next week. On Tuesday, he will travel to Llanelli in South Wales to celebrate Welsh sport and culture and visit a primary school, a women’s rugby team and the Wales Air Ambulance. There is yet to be any confirmation for Royal beard fans on whether the facial hair will be making these trips with him.
