Privacy Notice Prince Harry has confessed to feeling a sense of sadness when his brother Prince William married Kate Middleton in 2011. The now Prince and Princess of Wales said their vows in a breathtaking ceremony at Westminster Abbey in April, 13 years ago, with Harry standing by his brother’s side as best man. However, in his memoir Spare, released in January 2023, Harry described William’s wedding as “yet another farewell under this horrid roof” and “another sundering.” Harry penned: “The brother I’d escorted into Westminster Abbey that morning was gone – forever. Who could deny it?” He added: “He’d never again be first and foremost Willy. We’d never again ride together across the Lesotho countryside with capes blowing behind us. We’d never again share a horsey-smelling cottage while learning to fly. Who shall separate us? Life, that’s who.”

Harry went on to recall a poignant moment from the wedding day, writing: “And I recall Willy walking her back up the aisle, and as they disappeared through the door, into the carriage that would convey them to Buckingham Palace, into the eternal partnership they’d pledged, I recall thinking: ‘Goodbye.'”. The relationship between Harry and William has been strained since he and his wife Meghan Markle decided to step back from their roles as senior royals in 2020. In his book Spare, Harry revealed that he and his brother had a disagreement about Meghan in 2019, reports the Express. The Duke of Sussex claimed that during the argument, his brother pushed him to the ground. Since stepping away from the Royal family, Harry has been candid about his feelings in several interviews. In a chat with ITV journalist Tom Bradby, he expressed: “I want a family, not an institution. I would like to get my father back. I would like to have my brother back.

An anonymous churchwarden shared with the BBC: “It was wonderful that both princes were able to attend their uncle’s memorial service yesterday at St Mary’s Church. “The service was a lovely family occasion celebrating the life of such a special man. “Many friends were also present and also many members of the St Mary’s Church family.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
