Privacy Notice Prince Harry is set to grace the UK with his presence for an event that’s dear to his heart, and royal watchers are abuzz with speculation on whether he’ll reunite with King Charles. The Duke of Sussex has officially confirmed that, honouring his commitment as patron, he will be at the WellChild Awards in London on 30 September. Harry’s been championing the charity for a decade and a half, uplifting children facing grave health challenges and their families. A familiar face at this moving event, even making an appearance last year, Prince Harry will not only present an award to one of the amazingly brave young winners but also take the stage for what promises to be a stirring speech. In anticipation, he shared: “I am once again honoured to attend this year’s WellChild Awards celebrating the remarkable courage and achievements of children living with complex medical needs.

“These incredible young people, along with the dedicated caregivers, nurses, and professionals who tirelessly support them, inspire us all. It is a true privilege to recognise such extraordinary individuals.” News of Harry’s upcoming trip comes following birthday wishes from the Royal Family for his 40th birthday, reports the Mirror. However, there’s one sign that suggests Prince Harry and his father King Charles might not meet up, despite both being in the UK. It’s all down to the King’s busy schedule. Just days before the WellChild Awards on 28 September, Charles and Queen Camilla are set to attend the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh for its 25th anniversary. The Telegraph reports that the King is likely to stay in Scotland after the event. Meanwhile, Harry’s event is in London, meaning they’ll be hundreds of miles apart. But there’s still time for plans to change so the two can meet. Harry was last in the UK a few weeks ago for the funeral of his late uncle Lord Robert Fellowes, husband of Princess Diana’s sister Lady Jane Fellowes. He didn’t meet with his dad then, even though Prince William was also at the event. The two brothers, who have been feuding, reportedly didn’t speak to each other. Before that, Harry was in the UK in May for the 10th-anniversary service of the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral in London. His father was also in the capital that day. There were hopes that the father and son were starting to mend their relationship, especially after they met when Harry rushed to the UK following the news of Charles’ cancer diagnosis in February. However, at the time, Harry’s statement suggested that his father was too preoccupied to meet with him, and later reports claimed that the King had offered Harry a place to stay in one of the royal residences. Sources close to the Sussexes later revealed that Harry’s attempts to discuss his security arrangements with his father were being ignored. The Duke has been involved in an ongoing dispute over his security when he visits the UK, as he lost his police protection rights when he stepped down as a working royal. Despite losing subsequent court battles to have it reinstated for himself, Meghan, and their two children, he is planning an appeal. According to PEOPLE magazine, Harry believes his father could assist in getting this reinstated, but a palace source has dismissed this as “wholly inaccurate”. A friend of Harry’s told the magazine: “He gets ‘unavailable right now’. His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the King’s health, but those calls go unanswered too.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
