Privacy Notice Following the news that Prince Harry is set to jet off to New York on a solo visit next month for a series of important engagements, a leading royal expert has explained why the Duke may be “nervous” in the run-up to the trip, but that ultimately it shows he is still “determined” to do some good. “Harry has spoken in the past about how nervous he has been before undertaking royal engagements, so he may still suffer with some nerves and I’m sure having Meghan with him makes things easier,” former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond exclusively told OK! It was claimed in reports that Meghan has decided to step back this time, allowing Harry to focus on the causes closest to his heart.

“He doesn’t seem to suffer from any jealousy about the amount of attention that his wife gets,” Jennie says. “He looks incredibly proud of her. But Harry still shines on his own.” Reflecting on the ‘old Harry’ who was beloved for his cheeky and fun-loving antics, Jennie adds: “We have seen proof of that during recent events in the UK without Meghan. The old Harry seems to come out again and he’s brilliant with the people he meets, especially the children. “I think it shows the family back home that he is still determined to continue his kind of ‘service’ without all the royal trappings. If he wants to use his platform to do good, then we should applaud him for it.
Prince Harry is travelling to New York on a solo trip

A representative for Prince Harry confirmed that he will be visiting New York City during the significant UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week. These notable events see Climate Week starting on September 22 and continuing until September 29, while High-level Week takes place from September 23 to September 27. According to the announcement, 39 year old Harry will be in New York to “advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives.” His schedule in the city includes participating in engagements with African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst,” added the spokesperson. The Diana Awards also shared news that he will be present at an event celebrating the charity’s 25th anniversary. Harry will also “be furthering the work of The Archewell Foundation, the non-profit organisation he co-founded with Meghan.

The news of his upcoming solo visit comes after it emerged Harry made a secret trip to the UK to attend the funeral of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes. As well as meeting up with the Spencer side of his family, Harry also came face to face with Prince William, although, onlookers said the brothers “kept their distance”. According to The Sun, a local in Snettisham, Norfolk, where the funeral was held, said about the brothers: “We never saw them speak to each other and they kept their distance.” Another source told the paper that: “I didn’t know they were there. They arrived very discreetly.” Lord Robert Fellowes died on Monday 29 July at the age of 82. He was one of Queen Elizabeth II’s most important advisers during the years that she faced the divorces of three of her children (Charles, Anne and Andrew) as well as Diana, Princess of Wales’s death in 1997.
