Privacy NoticePrince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have found their relationship thrown into the spotlight yet again – for all the wrong reasons, and according to a source, they are rather upset about it. Fresh claims about their marriage have been made in a new book about the Royals by royal author Robert Jobson, which echoes previous claims that Harry’s brother, Prince William, feared Harry had rushed into marrying the former Suits star, in order to be like his elder brother, get married and have children. It must be deeply tiresome for Harry and Meghan to have such claims resurface, and it would be understandable if they have upset the couple – who Harry has explained previously, simply fell deeply in love. The proof, as they say, is in the pudding – and to all intents and purposes, they are still as besotted as ever with each other today. They now have two beautiful children, who they adore and are bringing up contentedly in their home in California, as they pursue their careers away from the Royal Family.

As a source has told OK!: “It upsets Harry and Meghan when this is mentioned as they’re still together, very happy and have two gorgeous children. They knew from the start how they felt and they believe their marriage is a true love story and how they’ve overcome so much to be together. They added: “But it does seem to put a strain on them and it’s like they have to constantly prove their marriage and happiness. They have lost family because of their marriage. “It still pains them to this day and they wish it wasn’t like this – but they have no choice. They have to remain strong for each other, as that’s the only way they can get through all the speculation and criticism.” In Jobson’s explosive new Kate Middleton biography, Catherine, the Princess of Wales: The Biography, the veteran royal correspondent delves into Kate’s eventful journey towards becoming the queen in waiting. And amongst the book’s shock revelations, there is plenty concerning Kate and Willam’s stance on Harry’s wedding to Meghan, in 2018.
The latest claims in Robert Jobson’s new books aren’t likely to help the brothers build bridges

Previous rumours have alluded to William wanting Harry to take things slow after he began dating actress Meghan, in 2016 after meeting at the Invictus Games – and in his own controversial memoir Spare, Harry, too, recalled significant tensions during the planning stages of his wedding. There were whispers that, when Harry began talking about getting hitched, Willam was said to have remarked to his younger brother, told by more than one friend, ‘’This all seems to be moving rather quickly.’ And Jobson’s new book alleges that the two brothers’ fraught relationship took another hit before the wedding, claiming that, amidst concerns about Harry and Meghan’s relationship, Prince William reportedly “sought assurances” from his grandmother, the late Queen, that Meghan Markle wouldn’t be wearing any of Princess Diana’s jewellery for her Big Day – though his wife Kate is in possession of a beautiful sapphire engagement ring of Diana’s. Jobson writes in his book: “By the time William was confirmed as best man, the relationship had worsened. I have been told that, still concerned about the match, he’d sought assurances from the Queen that Harry’s bride would not be wearing any of Princess Diana’s jewellery, even though his own wife was allowed to wear it.

“Despite sharp digs and thin skins on both sides, the wedding at Windsor in May 2018 was a spectacular success. In public, the Royal Family were all smiles, though privately they were at daggers drawn.”. And our source claims that Willliam, himself dubbed ‘Waity William’ as it had taken him nearly a decade to approve his own life partner in Kate, did indeed have his reservations about Harry marrying someone he had only known for two years. But they maintain it was from a place of care – as he understood from personal experience the intense pressures the couple would have to face, from that day on. “William does believe Harry was rushing into marriage with Meghan – because only he understands the pressure they would be under. Kate and William took their time with their relationship and even had a brief split, as William wanted to make sure Kate was ready and could handle royal life”. But according to our source, Harry, head over heels and wanting to make his commitment to Meghan official, was not ready to heed his older brother, at the time.

“William knew they needed a very secure relationship to cope with the pressure. He tried to give this advice to Harry but he wouldn’t listen. He said he was marrying Meghan for love – and nothing else mattered.” Harry and Meghan have certainly weathered a whole lot of storms since their stunning wedding in Windsor, on 19 May, 2018. And Harry is no stranger to explosive book revelations, having written autobiography Spare, which outlined grievances and bitterness in the Royal Family, and included claims that he and Prince William urged their father not to marry Camilla, that there was a physical altercation with William, and William had originally suggested a village chapel near their father’s Highgrove House home in the Cotswolds for Harry’s wedding – rather than St Paul’s Cathedral. Though these latest headlines about their marriage may cause them personal heartache – ones that will do little to mend Harry’s troubled relationship with William – there is no doubt that this is yet another painful chapter that Harry and Meghan will overcome, together.Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
