Privacy NoticeAs she turns 43 this weekend, it seems Meghan Markle is at a pivotal point in her career. This week, news broke that she and Prince Harry are planning a royal-style four-day tour to Colombia this summer, while the couple is also scheduled to appear on US TV later today (Sunday 4 August) to discuss their new initiative aimed at promoting online safety for children. However, there’s been little activity regarding her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, since its website and Instagram account were launched in March. The only updates have been a few social media posts from Meghan’s friends showcasing the jam they received with the brand’s logo. Royal author Tom Quinn suggests this could indicate that the couple’s life plan has hit a “serious snag”. Speaking to the Mirror, he said: “Harry has never had any real idea about becoming an entrepreneur or a businessman in his own right. He is trained from birth to do one thing only to be a royal and he has thrown that away.” Sign up to OK’s royal newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

“His one hundred per cent support for his wife and her business ventures has never wavered but it hasn’t been enough to make a success of her company. Meghan is proof that self-belief won’t always guarantee success. It won’t always make you a great entrepreneur and businesswoman.” Meghan and Harry are set to grace US screens with a pre-recorded CBS Sunday Morning interview, where they’ll discuss their latest venture aimed at aiding parents whose children face online dangers. In a teaser shared online, Meghan expresses her parental instincts towards Archie and Lilibet: “Our kids are young, they are three and five, they’re amazing, but all you want to do as parents is protect them. And so as we can see what’s happening in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done there and we’re just happy to be able to be a part of change for good.”

Harry touches on the serious issue of mental health among the youth, exacerbated by the digital world: “At this point, we’ve got to the stage where almost every parent needs to be a first responder, and even the best first responders in the world wouldn’t be able to tell the signs of possible suicide. That is the terrifying piece of this.” As for their upcoming Colombia trip, the Sussexes are expected to receive a warm welcome similar to their tour of Nigeria. Invited by Vice-President Francia Marquez, who is also the equality minister, they will visit Bogota and other areas.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
