Sharing his sentiments, Harry expressed: “I am once again honoured to attend this year’s WellChild Awards celebrating the remarkable courage and achievements of children living with complex medical needs.” He continued by praising these inspiring young individuals and those who commit their lives to caring for them: “These incredible young people, along with the dedicated caregivers, nurses, and professionals who tirelessly support them, inspire us all. It is a true privilege to recognise such extraordinary individuals.”, reports the Mirror. News of Harry’s plans to visit London crops up shortly after ringing in his 40th birthday, an occasion which notably saw heartfelt best wishes from the Royal family’s official social media accounts, including a potentially reconciliatory message from his father King Charles amid their rocky relations.

Though he was in close proximity, there was no reported reconciliation with his father, despite both he and Prince William attending; the two brothers are believed to have not exchanged words. Previously in May, hopes for mending family ties seemed more positive when Harry attended an anniversary service for the Invictus Games at St Pauls Cathedral while King Charles was also in London. This flicker of hope followed Harry’s rush to the UK upon hearing his father had been diagnosed with cancer back in February. But the hope was short-lived and caused a stir when Harry hinted that the King had been too preoccupied for a meet-up, with news later surfacing that Charles had extended an offer for Harry to stay within a Royal property.

Sources close to Prince Harry and Meghan have suggested that the Duke’s attempts at reaching his father, King Charles III, have been met with silence, especially when trying to discuss his security concerns. Following the Duke of Sussex stepping back from Royal duties, he lost entitlement to police protection while in the UK and has since faced legal hurdles to have it reinstated for himself, Meghan, and their children. He is now reportedly considering an appeal. PEOPLE magazine even quoted a friend of Harry saying, “He gets ‘unavailable right now’. His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the King’s health, but those calls go unanswered too.” In response, a palace insider has firmly branded these claims as “wholly inaccurate”.Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
