Privacy Notice Singer and reality TV personality Peter Andre was baffled when discovered a biography about his life suggesting that his real name was something entirely different The 51 year old posted a screenshot of the biography to his Instagram stories several years ago, which said that his full name was Peter James Andréa, but that he was also known as “Peter Mirigliani”. Pete used editing tools to ring the offending section in blue alongside an arrow, and he wrote: “Erm… Am I?” The rest of the information was correct, as it stated that Pete, who rose to fame in 1995 with his hit Mysterious Girl, was born in Northwick Park Hospital in London, and went to school in Queensland Australia, where he grew up.

Whilst known as Peter Andre, it’s little-known that Pete’s real last name is actually Andréa. His wife Emily, 32, is also officially Andréa, as are their children. She told OK! in 2016: “It’s on all the children’s birth certificates and is now my surname.” After initially finding fame on Australian talent show, New Faces, it was his Mysterious Girl song that made him a household name in England in 1995. Pete went on to star in ITV’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here in 2004, where he struck up a romance with glamour model Katie Price, 46. The couple married in an over-the-top ceremony just a year later, before starring in a number of fly-on-the-wall documentary series, including When Jordan Met Peter, and Katie and Peter The Next Chapter. Katie and Pete share two children together, Junior and Princess. In an interview in 2019, Pete said of his stint on I’m A Celeb: “It’s a really good thing. It did change my life. You know my two children, my two eldest, are the only two to ever come from that show.” Katie and Peter’s relationship broke down in 2009. Pete went on to meet doctor Emily after her father, Dr Ruaraidh MacDonagh, treated him for kidney stones. Emily and Peter later married in 2015 in a romantic ceremony at Mamhead House and Castle in Devon.
