Neighbours have reported that an ambulance was called to a luxury flat in Bristol on Wednesday evening, according to the Daily Mail. The publication suggests that the TV star, famed for his role as Sol Patrick in Hollyoaks, “slipped and fell,” reports the Mirror. OK! has contacted Paul’s representative for comment. Avon and Somerset Police provided an update earlier this week regarding the sad news of Paul’s death. Their statement read: “Officers attended a property in Brislington, Bristol, at around 5.20pm yesterday (Wednesday 15 January) where sadly a man in his 40s was declared deceased by paramedics.” “His family have been notified and our thoughts are with them. They have asked for people to respect their privacy during this incredibly difficult time,” the statement read. “His death is not being treated as suspicious and officers are preparing a file for the coroner.”

Paul was due to appear in court over driving and drug offences the day his death was announced. He was set to enter a plea at Warrington Magistrates’ Court in Cheshire after being charged with possession of several bags of cocaine and a ‘quantity’ of cannabis, according to court documents. He was also accused of driving under the influence of drugs on October 2, 2024, in Warrington. Six months before his tragic passing, Paul had a near-death experience when he fell ill with respiratory failure, which he attributed to his vaping addiction. Paul ended up in intensive care and was also treated for pneumonia during his stay at Whipps Cross Hospital. The doctor issued a stark warning to the star, telling Paul that he could end up on oxygen if he smoked again. Paul developed his vaping addiction after quitting cigarettes in 2021. The soap actor and reality star revealed he thought vaping was “healthier”. However, his addiction soon turned to vaping and he “got obsessed”. He said: “Everywhere I went I’d have my vape with me. I’d always have one in my hand, I would even go to sleep with it, like a comfort thing.” Opening up about his harrowing time in ICU due to a vaping-related illness, he shared: “I was on a machine in ICU and ended up with pneumonia. My family were warned that I might not make it through the night. I’m so lucky.” Doctors told Paul that smoking again could leave him reliant on an oxygen tank.
