Privacy NoticePaddy McGuinness recently spoke about his buddy and ex-Top Gear co-host Freddie Flintoff’s TV comeback following a horrific accident last December 2022. The premiere of the second season of Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams had fans buzzing to see the 46 year old back in action. Wrapping up their chat, Kate Garraway asked Paddy: “Obviously, you must be delighted to see Freddie back and better and well?” To which Paddy quickly confirmed: “Yeah, bless him.” He went on to explain their close bond from their Top Gear days, saying: “When we did Top Gear, we’re that close you’re together all of the time. You’re going around the world and everything else you have a real bond. Seeing him do stuff like that again, you’re like, ‘Glad he’s getting sort of back into it and back at it.”

Co-host Adil Ray chimed in with: “Absolutely, we all want to see that.” At the tail end of 2022, Freddie experienced a terrifying crash while filming for the popular BBC series. Driving a three-wheeler at 130mph, the car toppled over, landing roof-first and dragging Freddie along the circuit with another member of the production team inside, reports the Mirror. Freddie endured severe injuries from the mishap, leading to a significant pause in public engagements and filming as he underwent recovery. As his documentary’s second series began, audiences at the BBC witnessed him opening up about the ordeal for the first time.

Freddie confessed that the accident had left him grappling with anxiety, making it a challenge for him to venture out of his home. In the documentary, he shared: “I thought I could just shake it off. I wanted to shake it off and say ‘everything’s all right’, but it’s not been the case.” He continued: “It’s been a lot harder than I thought. As much as I wanted to go out and do things, I’ve just not been able to. I struggle with anxiety. I have nightmares, I have flashbacks. It’s been so hard to cope with.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
