And they’re serving them in UK restaurants from today. The new range of frozen beverages will complement the chain’s iconic flame grilled peri peri flavours, with new additions like the aptly named Peri-cante and Sunset Slushie making their way onto the menu. So, if you’re planning on treating yourself to some peri peri goodness either today, tomorrow, or sometime in the near future (catch us in our nearest Nando’s as soon as we clock off), know that you’ll now be able to wash your butterfly burger and spicy rice down with some seriously refreshing cocktails.

For those now heavily invested in this sacred news, we can also reveal the recipes of the new menu additions. The Peri-cante (which we’re assuming is a play on words for the much loved Picante cocktail) consists of vodka, mezcal tangy lime and a hint of chilli. Not for the faint hearted – picante is literally Portuguese for spicy – this choice is probably best for those who opt for the ‘hot’ to ‘extra hot’ flags when selecting their chicken/veggie option of choice. Meanwhile, diners looking to take their tastebuds to an exotic beach paradise, the Sunset Slushie will most likely be your vibe. Featuring a blend of vodka, peach liquor and vanilla with juicy pineapple and mango, this offering is perfect if you’re after something sweet either before, during, or after your meal. Or all three, we won’t judge.

But it doesn’t end there guys – as well as being available in a standard cocktail format, Nando’s is also offering a frozen slushie version of them both, which we see as the ideal dessert. Like, what could be better than a good old dose of brain freeze to cool down the taste buds after a sizzling meal? However, if you are in the market for a Peri-cante or Sunset Slushie (either as a cocktail or frozen slush), for now, it looks like you’ll have to plan your trip in advance. Because currently, the new beverages are only available in certain restaurants across the country. Phew for the punters whose local Nando’s is on this list but hard luck for the peri peri lovers who may to travel quite a way to try the new drinks.
Right now, the cocktails are only available in selected restaurants including Brighton and Birmingham

Selected restaurants include: Kings Cross, Westfield Stratford City, Brighton (Marina), Salford Quays, Crawley, Liverpool (ONE), Hull (Princess Quay), Birmingham (Mailbox), Wolverhampton (Bentley Bridge), Battersea and Waterloo Station. Hopefully, they go down a storm during this trial run and we’ll be able to grab ourselves a cocktail in every restaurant very soon. Somehow, we don’t see that being a problem.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK! MagazineFacebookTwitterCommentMore OnFood
