Finding a baby name can be a difficult task for parents. It can be even more frustrating if your hoping to find a name that goes well with your other children’s names or even the family surname. Kris, a TikTok user from New Zealand, shared her top tip for parents struggling to find that perfect, unique name that stands out without being too extravagant. She told her followers: “Turns out I have the best hack for finding baby names,” at the start of her viral video.

Although she’s not pregnant, Kris revealed was curious about boy names that would go nicely with her daughters’ names. She explained how she took to ChatGPT, inputting her girls’ names and asking the AI to suggest both boy and girl names that matched the style and popularity of her daughters’ names. “It gave me a perfect list. So there is my tip for you if you can’t find an answer,” Kris said. Her hack has been met with enthusiasm, with one commenter saying: “I just tried this even though we already have our boy name picked. And one of the names it suggested is the name we picked. “Finding ONE boy name was so hard! we had a list a mile long of girl names which didn’t help with a baby boy on the way,” shared another user, while a third shared, “I did this just to see. About half of the names were names from my list 10 years ago when I named my daughter.” Another parent exclaimed, “I swore up and down I was having a boy and was going to name him Holden. I’m actually having a girl and felt so stuck. Just asked chat GPT to give me similar names to Holden. I LOVE THEM ALL OMG.” Meanwhile, a heartfelt message came from a mum who said, “Omg, just did this and number one was what we named our son who we lost at 15 weeks. Best thing.” However, not everyone having luck with the AI program, with someone sharing, “Did this and it gave me Jethro Blaze to go with Stealie James. Which like…is NOT it.” Another person remarked: “nope just give me top 20 popular baby names,” prompting the response from Kris that they should try again with different prompts for new suggestions.
