Privacy NoticePrince Harry and Meghan Markle have just finished off their whirlwind four-day tour in Colombia. The trip, which has all the hallmarks of a traditional royal tour, is the Sussexes’ second major outing of the year after their three-day stint in Nigeria. It came about after an invitation from the nation’s chief of defence staff. Touching down in Colombia, the Sussexes were greeted by Vice-President Francia Marquez. Their packed schedule featured a heart warming visit to a local school, a cultural treat with a musical performance at a Bogota arts centre, and a summit focusing on internet safety. But it’s a sweet moment between the pair that has been the talk of social media. Harry and Meghan set tongues wagging at the Petronio Alvarez Pacific Music Festival in Cali. They addressed the crowds on Sunday (August 18) and Meghan showed off her “incredible” skill – speaking Spanish and translating conversations for her husband. In a video posted online, the Duke can be heard saying: “Thank you for your warm welcome.” Meghan then echoed the same sentiment in Spanish. Harry then concluded: “Thank you for your beautiful culture… And thank you, thank you, for your incredible hospitality.” His wife perfectly translated the comments, which left people in awe. Fans were quick to comment on the clip, with one writing: “Wow her Spanish is really good. Impressed with her accent.” “Is there anything the woman can’t do??? She’s brilliant!” said another. Meanwhile a third chimed in: “She is incredibly talented.” A fourth added: “Spanish is my first language and she knows more Spanish than I do!” Those who met the couple on tour seemed to be equally impressed by Meghan’s language skills. Taliana Vargas, former Miss Universe Colombia and the mayor’s wife, told Meghan: “Your Spanish is marvellous, I congratulate you.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
