Privacy NoticeBefore her fairytale wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was turning heads as Rachel Zane in the hit legal TV series Suits. However, before she married Harry, Meghan bid farewell to her on-screen persona, shut down her social media, and kissed goodbye to her lifestyle blog, The Tig. In her first sit-down chat post-engagement, the soon-to-be Duchess of Sussex summed up her career switch with a succinct seven words: “I just see it as a change.” BBC’s Mishal Husain probed about Meghan’s perspective on her duchess duties, to which Meghan responded with grace: “I don’t see it as giving anything up, I just see it as a change. It’s a new challenge.” Sign up to OK’s royal newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

She reflected on her time on ‘Suits’, saying: “And also keep in mind I have been working on my show for seven years.” Meghan’s role as Rachel Zane wasn’t just another gig; it spanned an impressive seven seasons, fostering deep bonds with her co-starsmany of whom were among the guests celebrating her Windsor nuptials, reports the Express. During her engagement interview with the BBC, Meghan reminisced about reaching a milestone with the series: “So we’re very, very fortunate to be able to have that sort of longevity on a series and for me, once we hit the 100-episode marker I thought you know what I have I have ticked this box and I feel really proud of the work I’ve done there and now it’s time to, as you said, work as a team with you [Harry].”

As Meghan’s time on the show came to an end, it was claimed that royal officials were concerned about the impact of Prince Harry and Meghan’s romance on the Royal Family’s image that they allegedly imposed strict rules on what could be included in Suits. In Tom Bower’s book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors, he alleged, “Fearing the worst, from bitter experience, the Palace stepped in to control Meghan’s life. Aaron Korsh was told to submit all future Suits scripts to Nick Collins, Meghan’s agent.” Bower went on to claim, “Scripts were thereafter forwarded to Kensington Palace for approval. Orders for changes of words were sent back from London to Los Angeles.”

It has also been reported that Meghan could be reuniting with her old Suits colleagues for her upcoming podcast project with Lemonada Media. Speaking to the Express.co.uk for Betfred, Celebrity PR Specialist Kayley Cornelius said: “While Meghan’s contact list may not have completely diminished, she will certainly have a smaller pool to rely on.” Kayley speculated further, saying, “Potential guests could include friends from her ‘Suits’ days, such as Abigail Spencer and Wendell Pierce, who likely remain accessible points of contact for Meghan.” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who first met in 2016 and married in 2018, decided to step back from their senior royal duties in 2020. They now live in Montecito, California with their two children, five year old Prince Archie and three year old Princess Lilibet.
