Privacy NoticePrince Harry seemed to surprise Meghan Markle during their latest TV interview. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, aged 39 and 42, sat down with CBS News host Jane Pauley to discuss cyber abuse, three years after their explosive Oprah Winfrey interview. The full chat with the royal pair is set to air on the American channel’s Sunday morning show. Sneak peeks of the interview were shared ahead of the airing date, showing the couple discussing the importance of safeguarding children from online threats. Body language expert Darren Stanton analysed the clips for Betfair Casino, suggesting that Harry “sat back” while his wife took the reins during the interview. This comes after it was exclusively revealed that the pair are feeling the ‘strain’ in their marriage.

Darren observed: “Harry is sitting there and listening to Meghan in the beginning. His eye contact was controlled and consistent, which tells us he is actively listening and waiting his turn. “He seemed happy to take a backseat while Meghan led the conversation during their joint appearance, clearly finding comfort in having his wife by his side as her presence visibly eased his nerves.” However, later in the preview, Darren noticed Harry’s confidence increase as he interrupted the former Suits actress mid-sentence, catching her off guard.

“When Harry answered the interviewer, we see him being expressive with his hands and arms. This shows he felt enthusiastic about the answer he was giving. His non-verbal gestures reflected the passion he hoped to convey verbally.” Darren added: “Here, Harry demonstrated he has the confidence and control to change the interview dynamic where appropriate. He’s not afraid to have his say and is happy to get more involved in the conversation where he feels necessary, as much as he is happy to let Meghan take a centre role.” Meanwhile, Meghan appeared to let slip that she was nervous through the action of biting her lip. Darren said: “When Harry is speaking and holding court, taking away the attention from Meghan, we saw her biting her lip. This is a giveaway of how Meghan, despite appearing confident, was feeling nervous internally.

“It’s a key self-reassurance sign she displays when feeling uncertain or lacking in confidence despite externally portraying the opposite.” Despite feeling “out of her depth”, Meghan found a way to push through her nerves. “While her eye contact did decrease throughout the interview, she did maintain a strong hold for the most part – and it exemplifies how she is able to adopt strength and push through even when she is feeling slightly out of her depth,” Darren explained.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
