This same deduction applies for the McChicken sandwich, Veggie Deluxe and Filet O’Fish. The reason for the cheaper menu is that last week chancellor Rishi Sunak announced in parliament that the VAT on food in restaurants, cafes and bars will be reduced from 20% to 5% from 15 July up until January to help the hospitality industry. And it will certainly help diners because delicious McMuffins will now cost 30p less while breakfast meals will save you a whopping 50p.
