The 30 year old Love Island host was posting from her plush New York room when she addressed the gossip that’s been swirling about her and Stormzy. The pair called it quits in August after rekindling their romance, but decided to end things after one year back together. Since then, it’s been reported that Stormzy has sparked a new romance with Victoria Monet, who shares a three year old daughter with her ex, after the duo were seen kissing in an airport.

However, Maya shut down the rumours after posting a video of herself using an Instagram filter that read “Gay and Tired”. A follower responded: “I fear there will be a stupid Sun article tomorrow like “MAYA JAMA COMES OUT AS GAY” all because of this Instagram filter, they won’t rest.” The screenshot showed Maya replying: “Honestly I’m so over them,” writing over it: “Also can use this opportunity to say the narrative that the mean tabloids created that I don’t want to settle down and have kids is a lieeee. They just hate women cause that’s never left my mouth x”. After Stormzy, 31, was caught in a cosy moment with Victoria at Heathrow Airport, Maya Jama broke her social media silence on Saturday to share her salon visit, which coincidentally aligned with a downpour.

She posted a photo of herself running her fingers through her freshly styled hair and a video clip with the caption: “And the rain falls as soon as the blow dry is done.” Maya continued to document her pampering day, including wearing a face mask while receiving treatments at the Shane Cooper Clinic in South Kensington. The split between Maya and Stormzy came as a shock to their fans back in July. They released a joint statement saying: “We’ve been laughing whilst drafting this because we never, ever, in a million years thought we’d be the couple announcing a breakup. “But for the sake of clarity and, more importantly, to allow us the space and grace that’s needed for us both to be able to navigate this next bit of our lives with peace, we thought it might be best to.” Despite their busy schedules, they tried to make it work, reminiscing about their young love when he was 21 and she was 20.
