Rebecca Vieira, the soon-to-be ex-wife of Marcel Somerville, has made her first public appearance on social media following his dramatic exit from the Love Island All Stars villa. Rebecca, who is in the process of finalizing her divorce from 39 year old Marcel after their split last year, shared a photo of herself posing in a pink sarong and cropped top, but chose not to comment on her ex-partner’s departure from the show. Marcel and his partner Olivia Hawkins were eliminated from the competition on Wednesday 22 January, after receiving the fewest votes in a public poll that asked viewers to choose the most compatible couple. As they left the villa, they told host Maya Jama that they were happy to be leaving together, with Olivia hinting that she might be ready for her first boyfriend.

Marcel expressed his happiness at being with Olivia and having resolved past issues with his ex, Gabby Allen. Despite their early exit from the villa after just over a week, Marcel told Maya, “I feel like we had a really good, compatible relationship.” Olivia also mentioned that they had grown closer in the past few days, saying, “I feel the last two days we got so close.” Before jetting off to the Love Island villa in South Africa, Marcel spilled the beans on the emotional moment he broke the news to his wife Rebecca about his participation in the series, reports the Mirror.

“I had to tell Rebecca that I wasn’t going to be around for a few weeks,” he shared. “She said: ‘I can’t believe this. I can’t believe this is happening.'” He went on to explain, “But she’s got to a point of understanding that our relationship has broken down. We’re going through a divorce. It’s got to get to a point where we have to start moving forward and living our lives separately.” Marcel also talked about the possibility of seeing his ex-flame Gabby in the villa before he went, guessing there would be an unexpected reunion after six years of silence. “We saw each other after the drama ensued and we had a heart to heart conversation and hugged at the end of it. I haven’t seen her since,” he confessed before his villa comeback. “So obviously if she was to go back in there, I don’t think it would be awkward or anything between us. Gabby is a lovely person. We could be friends and I might even end up her wingman in there.”
