Privacy Notice Four people have been arrested following the shooting and death of soap actor Johnny Wactor in May this year. The 37 year old actor from South Carolina, who was best known for playing Brandon Corbin in the daytime series General Hospital, was shot on the street in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday 25 May. He was fatally shot by one of three suspects who were attempting to extract the catalytic converter from his car at around 3am, according to police at the time. The Los Angeles Police Department released a statement on Friday 16 August in which they said: “Bureau Homicide conducted search warrants relating to the John Wactor case at several locations throughout Los Angeles. These search warrants resulted in four people being arrested and evidence recovered.” The arrests reportedly took place on the morning of Thursday 15 August, and the suspects are aged between 18 and 22 years old. Robert Barceleau, Leonel Gutierrez and Sergio Estrada were “booked on arrest warrant for murder” according to the LAPD, while Frank Olano was arrested as an “accessory.” A few days after his death, Anita Joy, who worked with Johnny in a local bar, wrote an Instagram post describing his final moments. “I’ve needed to take some time to collect myself and my thoughts,” she wrote. “I was with Johnny in his last moments and I’m here to be his voice after such unimaginable events. He was killed senselessly by a coward who reacted without care of the gorgeous life he was taking. I’m angry, I’m sad and I’m all the feelings at once, but above all, I am here for Johnny’s justice.” Sign up to OK’s TV newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

Soap star Johnny Wactor’s final words before tragic death revealed

She explained that she and Johnny had been walking to their cars after finishing a shift at the Level 8 Bar, when they noticed criminals close to his car. “We cautiously approached the men, questioning what they were doing, at first thinking the car was being towed,” she wrote. “We were no threat and Johnny kept his cool as he always did, simply stating that it was his car and for them to leave. Hands open to his sides in peace.” “Johnny was between me and the man who shot him,” she added. “As I heard the shot ring into the night, he forcefully tumbled back into my arms. As I grabbed for him, I shouted ‘Hunny you ok?!’ And he only responded, ‘Nope! Shot!’ We toppled onto the street where I pushed my legs under him and tried to hold his body up while screaming for help and screaming at him to stay with me.”

The security guard from the bar was nearby and called 911. “We tied my denim jacket around him to stop the bleeding and Bryan [the security guard] proceeded to try CPR on him,” she wrote. “It was too close range, too extreme of a wound for him to survive it but my god, he fought to stay.” “I am utterly heartbroken and so very angry. My only peace is that I was with him and this didn’t happen to him alone – my only other peace will be seeing these awful men brought to justice.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
