Privacy NoticeBuying London has been cancelled after just one season after Netflix decided to not renew it for a second instalment. The show followed a group of realtors who are pursuing luxury properties in London’s most affluent areas, all while balancing both of their professional and personal lives. The seven episodes of season one aired on the streaming platform back in May and were met with plenty of criticism. Now viewers have taken to Reddit to share their views on the cancellation and have admitted they aren’t surprised. One person wrote: “The properties were so dated and not exciting. It made London look a bit pathetic compared to SS and owning Manhattan. Owning Manhattan also just made the other companies look like amateur hour as well.”

Another Reddit user quipped: “The show was disappointing, primarily focused on petty squabbles and showcasing tasteless properties with Americanized interiors. I don’t recall seeing a single property sale.” Somebody else said: “It was pretty s**t, so no surprises. Selling Sunset and Owning Manhattan are going strong though.” Yet another penned: “The proliferation of these real estate shows has led to an inevitable batch of highly scripted and dramatized versions that are unwatchable garbage.” While a fifth added: “It was such a let down. There have been other one off shows (on BBC or C4) which have shown some of the amazing properties on sale in London (and actually in London) really disappointing as it went in straight with the drama which was just really dull.” Sign up to OK!’s daily newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

Buying London’s cancellation comes after Netflix announced it wasn’t renewing Buying Beverly Hills after two seasons. Similarly to the British version, Buying Beverly Hills in the glitzy world of high-stakes property deals. The show followed Mauricio Umansky and his squad at The Agency as they hustled through the ups and downs of selling prime Beverly Hills estates, all while juggling personal relationships, romantic entanglements and explosive cast drama. Season two threw a spanner in the works with the introduction of Mauricio’s daughter, Sophia Umansky, into The Agency mix, much to the dismay of the established agents. Viewers were keen to feast their eyes on the second season of the show particularly because Mauricio openly discussed his much-publicized split from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards for the first time.
