Privacy NoticeA ‘war’ is said to have been sparked between Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and Strictly Come Dancing as contestant Pete Wicks has signed up to both shows. The TOWIE star already filmed his part in SAS in July last year – and it wasn’t his first time on the show. Pete already competed in the challenge show the year before, but had to leave after he broke his ribs. Pete’s second appearance will air this September, coincidentally on the very same weekend that Pete will make his Strictly Come Dancing debut on rival channel, BBC. A source told The Sun: “Channel 4 were fuming when Pete was revealed as part of this year’s Strictly cast. “All plans for Pete to give interviews for SAS: WDW will be overtaken by Strictly and bosses are furious — but there’s nothing they can do about it.” OK! has contacted Channel 4 and BBC reps for comment. It’s reported that Pete’s second stint on SAS was supposed to be a ‘redemption arc’ after the dramatic moment in 2022 when Pete jumped out of a helicopter – his injuries led to his departure. Speaking about leaving the show Pete said: “I was gutted actually. Listen, this is a bit of a thing for me, it’s like I’ve always wanted to do this show and the worst thing for me was to be taken out because that’s something that I can’t control.

Pete will return to Celebrity SAS later this year for the second time

Pete isn’t the first star to have joined Celebrity SAS and then joined another show – Channel 4 had the same dilemma with Matt Hancock. In 2022, its star signing, MP Matt Hancock, appeared on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity, before his adventure for the Channel 4 show was broadcast the following year. Matt appeared in Celebrity SAS 2023 series, which was filmed in the Vietnamese jungle in summer 2022. But Matt ended up ITV’s I’m A Celeb in November 2022 with SAS: WDW airing the following September.

Matt Hancock also appeared in Celebrity SAS and another reality show at the same time

The news about Pete joining the Strictly Come Dancing 2024 line-up was announced on the Kiss FM Breakfast Show on Wednesday (7 August) and Pete has admitted he’s “terrified” about dancing live. Pete will compete against the likes of Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri, Coronation Street’s Shayne Ward, Chris McCausland and Wynne Evans.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
