Bride Emma Barnes has opened up about what her relationship with husband Capsar Todd was really like during their Jamaican honeymoon just days after the episode detailing their trip aired. Emma confessed that she spent time alone during the holiday and Caspar abandoned her on “night one.” Speaking to the programme’s official podcast, which is hosted by Chloe Burrows, Emma admitted that the honeymoon was far from the love-in she’d dreamed of.

Chloe asked Emma what her expectations of the honeymoon had been before she went on it and Emma said: “After the wedding day I’d been so open-minded and I knew it was going to be a challenge because everything is a challenge “I haven’t had a boyfriend before, Caspar hasn’t had a girlfriend before and especially hearing what our friends and family said about us both being quite stubborn, I knew navigating that was going to be a challenge. She added: “We were in this gorgeous honeymoon suite with gorgeous balconies, and sea view, and he left me on night one. I just had a lot of time thinking, ‘jesus I don’t think he likes me’.” Fellow reality TV star David Potts was also on the podcast and asked Emma whether she and Caspar only communicated when the MAFS UK 2024 cameras were rolling. She laughed and admitted: “oh yeah, yeah.” Emma added that he did at least teach her how to play backgammon on the first night after bringing his own board, before their argument.

She joked: “But it was like an A3 backgammon board and I have no idea how he managed to fit it in his case.” Married at First Sight sparked uproar among viewers of the E4 show as Caspar offended his new wife during an earlier episode of the show this week. Emma was taken aback by his comments and asked: “What started off those feelings?”, as he confirmed she reminded him of his sister. Caspar confirmed that she was reminding him of his sister as he explained: “Watching you and her laugh together, there’s an element and sort of mannerisms – I’m equating one with the other and it’s not good.” Emma then asked what his “usual type” is, and Caspar replied: “I’ve rarely gone for the curvier person,” leaving his bride shocked. He then persisted in telling Emma that he didn’t find her “sexy”.
