Privacy NoticeMarried At First Sight UK stars Charlie Curtis and Eve Reid have become the first couple to quit the show following a brutal commitment ceremony. The duo both decided to end the marriage and leave the experiment after a string of tearful bust-ups. Over the past few weeks, viewers of the E4 show have seen them clashing on multiple occasions. While things got off to a good start on their wedding day, it all went downhill on the honeymoon. Eve decided to stay in a separate room and Charlie even took off her ring at one point. In another episode, the pair were tasked with writing letters to each other to open up about their relationship. But Charlie was left upset when Eve refused to take part.

On Tuesday (1 October), Charlie burst into tears after discovering that Eve had branded her a “bully” to their co-star Polly Sellman. And last night (2 October), things ended in disaster once again when Eve was caught listening to Charlie while she was doing a solo on-camera interview. Charlie accused Eve of invading her “safe space” and breaking her trust. Sitting on the sofa in front of the experts, Eve insisted that Charlie was lying, causing further tension between them. However, Mel Schilling called Eve out, saying she was in fact eavesdropping on a private conversation. They then had to decide whether they wanted to stay and work on their relationship or leave and call it quits. Eve was first to reveal her choice, writing “leave” on her card. The feeling was clearly mutual, as Charlie also opted to leave. Sign up to OK!’s daily newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

As they said their goodbyes to the group, Eve said: “I know things didn’t work out good but yous are f**king amazing, and you’re a great person too, Charlie, I hope someone makes you very happy because you deserve it.” But Charlie wasn’t having any of it, sniping back: “Clearly not.” Charlie then said: “Thank you guys. Obviously I didn’t get a chance for you to get to know me because someone else decided to tell you all about me before you got to know me.” Eve then responded: “Keep your head held high, Charlie.” Speaking to the camera, Charlie later said: “I’m conflicted. Yes, it’s the right decision but its still tough walking away from people you have feelings for. I’m leaving a heartbroken woman right now.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
