Privacy Notice The UK edition of Married At First Sight is back on our screens, but one of the couples from last year’s series who were thought to be one of the show’s success stories are now clashing over the reasons their relationship came to an end. On Tuesday 17 September, Erica Roberts revealed in an interview why her marriage to Jordan Gayle ended after 11 months, noting there was a significant “red flag” moment that wasn’t aired on TV. And now, her ex Jordan is hitting back at her comments. Erica had announced their split earlier this year, but it was only this week that she revealed what went wrong. She admitted there were “warning signs” early on, and during their honeymoon in Antigua she became aware that her new husband was constantly interrupting her and wouldn’t let her speak. “I said to him, ‘I do feel like you’re kind of dismissing the things I say, and not really listening to me, or you just want to talk about yourself.’ And that led to him having an absolute meltdown,” Erica explained.

She also noted that throughout their relationship he had “meltdowns” and she felt she was playing the role of “therapist and his mum.” The final straw was when she planned a surprise trip to Scotland for Jordan’s 27th birthday and Jordan reportedly “kicked off and went crazy” because it meant he couldn’t go ten-pin bowling in Sheffield with his mum. Erica says he accused her of giving him “the worst birthday of his life” and his “behaviour” was the reason she finally ended things. Following her revelations, Jordan has now spoken out in an interview with The Sun, calling his ex-wife “bitter.” “I feel like people who followed our story will look at these comments and think this doesn’t make sense,” he says. “If there are red flags from the honeymoon, then why the hell, on social media, were we looking the way we were? It doesn’t make any sense. Jordan went on to say he was happy with the time he spent with Erica, even though there are bad memories as well as good ones. He was less than impressed with a comment she made about staying with him longer than she should have to keep MAFS fans happy, however. “It’s such a bad look for her. I couldn’t care less anymore, but obviously, closer to the time, I was like, was it just a game?
