Privacy NoticeMarried At First Sight bride Emma has begged fans to not ‘react’ as her on-screen husband, Caspar, has been hit with a huge amount of negativity. Emma and Caspar, who are starring in the E4 series, tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony – but disaster struck soon after when he made comments about his new wife. After confessing to his sister that he wasn’t physically attracted to Emma, and later making a comment about not liking ‘curvy’ women, viewers hit back. However, Emma has since begged fans to allow for “growth” and calls for the “torrent of abuse” to end in a chat with Bristol Live.

MAFS star Caspar has got on the wrong side of fans

Viewers hit out at Caspar after the comments he made during their wedding. Talking to the camera, he said: “Emma is full of energy, big smile, really big laugh. [She’s] a beautiful, dazzling woman. But if I’m being completely honest, she very much reminds me of my sister… who I hate.” Outraged fans took to social media with one saying: “The amount of anger Casper clearly has towards Emma is actually terrifying, and after how he behaved about his sister, at the point im fully convinced he just hates women. As it’s just f*****g WEIRD.” Another added: : “One thing I’ve learned from Married at First Sight is how scary men are when they don’t find a woman attractive. If they’re matched with a woman they don’t instantly fancy it’s almost like they feel entitled to HATE her and show her no respect at all.”

Caspar has been struggling to connect with Emma

She shared with Bristol Live: “Seeing the public perception, actually, I think, what’s been given out is it is an edited show and you have to remember that, like, I think that you can’t film and put out every conversation and the whole conversation that you have. “And I think a lot of what hasn’t been shown potentially is the deep dive in the whys and hows and reasons why people say things that they do because otherwise, it would go on for about 60 hours a night, right? But if you deep dive that for every couple, Casper in particular hasn’t received good feedback at all.” Emma went on to add that she thought Caspar is a “great guy” and that he doesn’t deserve the hate that he’s been receiving. She also revealed that some things in the show are taken out of “context” and that she’s been “shocked” by the online comments.

Emma has called for viewers to stop making negative comments online

Emma added: “If they’re constantly receiving that tyrant of abuse, it’s not great. But today’s news is tomorrow’s fish paper. I think that you know what’s great about this show in general is the journey and, you know, everyone at some point in this is gonna say something, but they think oh, no, did I really say that? And the audience and people watching it might think that now, but it’s all about the growth of people. And that’s why I love the show. You know, I always think ‘don’t react’, bear with.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
