Privacy NoticeMarried at First Sight UK relationship expert Paul C Brunson has taken to social media to defend the show’s experts following fan criticism after the bullying row between brides Eve and Charlie, and the subsequent departure of the couple at the end of the episode that was broadcast on Wednesday, October 2. During the dinner party episode the night before, Charlie was accused by fellow bride Polly of bullying her partner, Eve, and things came to an emotional head when Charlie discovered Eve had been listening in to her private interview after the emotional events of the evening. The couple both elected to leave the experiment during the commitment ceremony shown on Wednesday after Eve denied she had listened in and the experts called her out for lying. Viewers questioned why the experts didn’t step in earlier, with one saying: “Experts need to stop this nonsense pretending they don’t see any footage and start outing people like Eve to the group #MAFS.” Another was even blunter: “Surely the experts should call s**t like this out.” Paul responded to some of the criticism on X, writing: “For the record, we don’t see any footage. This is what makes it so challenging for us. We only see what happens at the dinner parties and commitment ceremonies. Everything else we see for the first time with you when the show airs.”

Another fan asked how the experts, who also include Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas, could possibly be able to help the couples if they don’t actually see all the footage from the couples’ interactions throughout the week. Paul replied: “It’s similar to when you and your partner visit a counsellor or therapist. They don’t witness the day-to-day moments of your life; they can only work with what is shared during your sessions. However, in this case, production provides a dedicated 24/7 welfare team to support the couples throughout the entire experiment.”

We’re not there. We don’t have hidden cameras. We don’t get to watch any footage of what they do between the dinner party and the next commitment ceremony.” “In the early days, I think they thought that we had more knowledge than we did. And so we got blamed for things that were happening when we really had nothing to do with them,” she explained.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
