Privacy Notice Hugo Hammond, who rose to fame on the 2021 series of Love Island, has revealed that he has left the world of TV behind for a new career. The former PE teacher from Hampshire, who became famous for his racy confessions at the villa, has now joined property development company Pearcroft Developments, a firm that specialises in building environmentally friendly luxury homes. Taking to social media to announce his new position, Hugo wrote: “There we land. After a whirlwind few years consisting of teaching, TV and travel. I’m excited to announce that I will be joining the @pearcroft developments investment team, where I will be continuing to build my network and driving sustainable development. If you want to know more about #greeninvesting and #sustainableliving, drop me a message.”

I would definitely say that I am a cool teacher. I have never asked a girl to call me Mr Hammond. I don’t think I could do it without laughing, so I’m definitely not going to be doing that any time in the near future.” While on the show, Hugo confessed he had had sex in the middle of a road, and successfully snogged 10 girls during one night out in a game of Horny Devils. He didn’t return to his teaching job after he left Love Island, although it was revealed that it wasn’t because of his TV appearance. At the time, a representative from the school told the Daily Star: “Mr Hammond was here on a very short placement during his teacher training in the Spring Term. He was not employed by the school.”

After his 38 day stint at the villa ended, Hugo admitted to OK! that he found dating difficult. “I’m very much single and I’ve been dating and stuff, but I actually find it almost harder now because you don’t know what everyone’s intentions are, and things like that,” he said. “I’m trying, but still unlucky at the moment.” He went on to date former Australian Love Island contestant Layla Ruby John, and lived with her for a time in Australia, but while the couple are still together they are now in a long distance relationship with Layla in Sydney while Hugo is based in Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire. The couple try to see each other as much as possible, and Layla shared a video of their latest airport reunion in July, writing: “The longest 4 months but all worth it.” Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
