Privacy Notice Love Island’s Liberty Poole has been chatting about her relationship with boyfriend Joshua Raybold, and has revealed she initially rejected him years before they started dating as she thought he was a “bad boy.” The reality show star has had three stints in the Love Island villa, in 2021 and spin-offs Love Island Games and Love Island All Stars, but she found romance away from the show and went public with Josh earlier this year. It turns out that Josh and Liberty, 25, first met when she was 19, when he worked in club promotion. In an interview with Closer Magazine, she said: “I thought he was a bit of a bad boy, so I kept pieing him off, which makes no sense because my taste on Love Island was worse.” Josh replied: “‘I kept trying, didn’t I? It was thousands and thousands of DMs, that was. I asked you on a date about four times before you actually said yes. Never give up kids!”

At the beginning of October, Liberty shared on Instagram that she had bought her first home, but didn’t say whether Josh would be moving in with her. She has posted lots of photos of the pair of them together in recent months, however, including a look at her birthday trip to Disneyland Paris in September and a holiday in Dubai the month before. Following her most recent stint on Love Island before she revealed her new romance, Liberty spoke to OK! about how she has been trolled on social media following her TV appearances, with people writing about how she looks. “The trolling doesn’t bother me because I’m confident in my own body and in my own skin. I see comments online saying, ‘Why hasn’t she found love, is it because she’s a bigger size?’ and I deal with it by just thinking, they’ve never seen me in real life and they don’t know me. Any time there’s something negative I always try to take the positive and think, I can use this to spread positivity and educate people.” Sign up to OK!’s TV newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

She also explained that she didn’t feel under any pressure to change the way she looked each time she appeared on the reality dating show. “I’ve always been slightly curvier, I’ve always had big boobs and a bum and I’ve just embraced that,” she said. “I was a lot more confident going on the second time, even though I have put on weight since going on the first time which happens – I’m older and your metabolism slows down. But I do still eat healthy and go to the gym, people are so judgemental, they see you’re curvy and assume you’re unhealthy and don’t do certain things. I think more people need to be confident and be authentic, a lot of people are scared to be real online because of the criticism they might face.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
