Privacy NoticeThis year, Love Island has been explosive since the get-go – but now the sister of this series’ contestants has sparked a whole new uproar. Love Island star Uma Jammeh’s sister, Peta, took to social media with a cryptic post and hinted the series is fake. Peta has been supporting her sibling ever since she decided to quit the show after Islander Wil Anderson was dumped from the villa, and regularly comments on their social media snaps. However, most recently Peta had alarm bells ringing when she shared a clip of the final scene of MTV reality series The Hills to her Stories. She captioned it: “Shout out to @Wilandersonn. Anyone here a fan of The Hills? Iykyk.” The final scene of The Hills saw Brody Jenner say goodbye to his then-love interest Kristin Cavallari in front of the iconic Hollywood sign.

However, in a dramatic twist, Kristen drove off and as the camera panned out, it showed Brody – who is son of Caitlin Jenner and regularly appeared on Keeping up with the Kardashians – on a studio backlot with crew working behind him. Fans then thought this meant the show was entirely scripted. Now, with Uma’s sister sharing the video, which was also re-shared by Wil, it looks like they’re doubting how real events are on Love Island too.

However, it’s important to note, that the show’s stars as well as production have always insisted nothing about the show is scripted. In 2022, according to the Sun, ITV said: “It is absolutely untrue to suggest that Love Island is fake, staged or scripted. They continued: “The opinions they have and the relationships formed are completely within the control of the Islanders themselves.”

All Stars contestant Casey O’Gorman – who first entered the villa in season nine – also told the publication that the ITV2 dating show is real. He said: “I think it’s ridiculous that people think it’s set up. The emotions of when you are walking back into Casa you can’t set that up you’d need actual actors.” Can’t get enough of the Love Island drama?
