The 47 year old, Sadie, wowed viewers with her youthful looks during the latest episode of the companion show, which is hosted by her daughter Maya, 29. The Swedish stunner was given a shout-out at the start of the show after Maya revealed her mum was watching on. One user gushed on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Maya Jama’s mum is GORG! ” while another exclaimed: “MAYA, THAT’S MUM? Wow.” Another fan joined in the praise, commenting: “Wow, Maya’s mum, it makes sense,” and yet another chimed in: “Maya’s mum is GORGEOUS..” Bristol-born Maya was born when Sadie, who boasts Swedish roots, was 18, while Maya’s dad Hussein is of Somali heritage.

It was the iconic American writer and poet Maya Angelou who inspired Sadie to name her daughter. Sadie isn’t new to the limelight either; she’s previously graced the screen alongside Maya on All Round To Mrs Brown’s Boys. Maya shares an incredibly tight-knit bond with both her mum and brother Omar, often speaking fondly of the strong connection she has with her family. In an interview with the Evening Standard, Maya opened up about how the relatively small age difference between her and her mum has fostered a unique closeness, saying: “She had me at 18, so our relationship was a bit different. I rebelled less because I was quite free.”

“My mum’s always been like, ‘I want you to have your experiences-just tell me. I’m not going to judge you or shout at you.”” Despite their close relationship, Maya did confess that sometimes Sadie can push the envelope with her “cool mum” persona. Maya joked: “She’s banned from my parties though. She gets too drunk.” Additionally, she owned up to the fact that they frequently get mistaken for sisters, revealing: “All my boyfriends and friends that were guys fancied her.” It comes days after Maya confirmed she is no longer in a relationship with rapper Stormzy, 30.
Fans gushed over Maya’s mum’s youthful looks
On Wednesday (July 17) in a social media message to fans, a joint statement read: “We’ve been laughing whilst drafting this because we never, ever, in a million years thought we’d be the couple announcing a breakup, but for the sake of clarity and, more importantly, to allow us the space and grace that’s needed for us both to be able to navigate this next bit of our lives with peace, we thought it might be best to.” Describing their love story, she wrote: “We fell madly in love in 2014, broke up in 2019, and then spent five years manoeuvring life apart.” “We decided to try for the final time in August 2023, and we’ve spent this past year trying our best to make it work, however we recently decided to call it quits. “We were 21 and 20 when we first met, both at the beginning of our careers, and spent five years growing together and then five years growing separately, so this final attempt required a whole lot of figuring out, relearning and unlearning.

“We tried and it didn’t work and that’s okay. “We still think the absolute world of each other, we still care and respect each other, we are still grateful for the time we’ve had together, and we are still friends and will always be friends (so if you see us having a lil catch-up at the Brits or something, don’t cause a fuss, we are dawgs). “Announcing this feels so dramatic, but we’re doing it so that it kind of takes away the drama and avoids speculation and rumours. “We’re kindly asking for the grace to let both of us keep it moving and not be bothered about it (we highly doubt this will work, but we’re still kindly asking anyway). “Love you guys and thank you for all the love you’ve showered us with, it’s been beautiful.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
