Privacy NoticeThe current series of Love Island finishes on Monday 29 July, and the remaining couples at the Majorcan villa must all have their eye on the £50,000 grand prize – except for one unfortunate duo, who were unceremoniously dumped following the Grafties ceremony that has yet to air on ITV2. The couple in question, who were part of the recoupling ceremony shown on Friday 19 July, have already packed their bags and left the villa, so have missed out on a chance at the cash. They were given the boot after the annual Grafties, in which viewers voted for Islanders in categories such as Unfinished Business, Epic Fail, Dramatic Performance and Flirtiest Performance. The Grafties – and that surprise eviction of an Islander couple – comes immediately after the final recoupling of the show. Ayo Odukoya received the dreaded text telling them that the boys were the ones who could make the choice of which girl to couple up with for one final time. Now, following seven weeks of shock dumpings, numerous love triangles and those tense recouplings, the show is set to finish with one couple walking away with the cash prize. The final on Monday 29 July will be longer than an usual episode, on air from 9pm until 10.35pm, and ITV teased: “With a tasty £50k prize up for grabs, the game is well and truly on.” One of the stars of the show this year has been, of course, Joey Essex, the first celebrity to enter the Love Island villa as a bombshell. During his time on Love Island he’s romanced more than one girl, and come face to face with a couple of women he already knew, and then stirred the pot some more earlier this week when he was given what he described as a secret mission to complete.

During Thursday 18 July’s episode, the challenge was Couple Goals, and the Islanders were asked which couples fit in categories like ‘Who is the most argumentative couple?’ and ‘Who are the biggest game players?’ When asked which couple are the most likely to have their heads turned, Joey whispered: “I know something no one knows here.” Viewers know that Mimii asked him to arrange a secret meeting between her and Ayo, even though she was paired with Josh, and while Joey didn’t spill the beans, he certainly caused everyone to wonder what on earth was going on. Could his intrigue secure him a place in the final, or could his stirring ways be his undoing? OK! contacted ITV but they have no comment at this time.
