Throughout the reality TV series, he and Catherine Richards appeared to be a solid pair until the finale, when Freddie decided not to continue their relationship beyond the altar. During a fan Q&A, the Salford-based funeral director was quizzed about any other significant connections he made in the pod and his overall experience. “Cat was my only romantic connection,” Freddie confessed. “I got on with everyone, everyone was dead sound and dead nice, but yeah just Cat and that’s how I wanted it to be honest. “I didn’t wanna get to know anybody else because I had strong feelings for her.”

The contestant continued: “The lounge was so boring right… You’re just literally waiting there all day long. You just wanted to get in that pod, and when you got in there it was just so nice because you’d been thinking about your connection all day long and night and stuff, and all you’re thinking about is your connection and when you can speak to them again”, reports the Mirror. “It was crazy, it’s a mad, mad experience; overwhelming mix of emotions, there were ups there were downs, it was a rollercoaster. “But yeah, it was really nice and some of the dates were several hours long, so it was mental, but overall amazing.” So, what fans saw of the dates was merely the tip of the iceberg.
