More infoJoin us on WhatsApp Lorraine Kelly found herself a tad red-faced after she accidentally dropped a cheeky word on Good Morning Britain during her regular appearance. The 64-year-old telly favourite was in the midst of a lively chat with Susanna Reid and Ed Balls about her upcoming guests on Monday, March 10, when the naughty term just slipped out. Buzzing about Sir David Suchet’s visit to her show, thanks to Agatha Christie’s latest page-turner, Lorraine gushed: “Sir David Suchet is coming in and I just wondered, you know what he makes…. and what Poirot would have made of (Towards) Zero the new Agatha Christie, it’s called Sh*****a Christie apparently.”

Lorraine Kelly accidentally said a rude comment live on Good Morning Britain

Susanna, clearly taken aback, interjected with a quick “I beg your pardon,” surprised by Lorraine’s choice of words. Meanwhile, Lorraine questioned: “Am I allowed to say that?” only for Ed to crisply respond: “No”, reports the Mirror. The Scottish host then quipped: “Well I just have,” and followed up with: “Anyway, I apologise for apologising and I’ll apologise again for myself.” Attempting to steer back to her show preview, she continued: “Anyway, it’s raunchy, Agatha Christie is raunchy which I don’t really think that you need but we’ll find out what David thinks.” “Ok”, came Susanna’s doubtful reply.

Hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls were shocked by Lorraine’s comment

Wrapping up, Lorraine told the audience: “Sorry about that,” before letting out a little giggle at her own gaffe. Ed attempted to inject some humour into the conversation, joking: “No, you’ve livened it up.” Susanna couldn’t help but join in with a cheeky comment of her own. With a smile on her face, she revealed: “At the weekend Lorraine was asked what she’s really like in a newspaper interview and she said she’s ‘exactly like Lorraine but only more sweary’.” Embracing the light-hearted banter, she added: “But you’ve decided to be a bit more raunchy on-air,” prompting Lorraine to quickly defend herself: “But that’s not me, that was everybody that was saying that.”

Lorraine also gave fans an update on her swollen face

Lorraine also gave fans an update on her swollen face. Last week the presenter revealed that she had fallen at home and collided with a rhino ornament, giving herself a back eye. Susanna asked: “How’s your eye by the way?”, to which Lorraine said: “You can see Helen has covered it up. Our fantastic make-up artist. Helen Hand the magician. It’s still quite bad but the swelling as gone down.” Susanna replied: “Last week when we saw you, you looked very weepy.” Lorraine agreed, saying: “Yes, swollen.”
