Privacy NoticeLoose Women fans spotted what seemed to be a slight from Ruth Langsford towards Eamonn Holmes on Tuesday’s episode. The panel was discussing the sentimental value of friendship bracelets and gifts from loved ones when Ruth chimed in with her take. Ruth shared: “I think any gift from a friend is a special gift, anything that a friend gives you. When someone says friendship bracelet I don’t think of a beautiful silver bracelet, I think of a bit of cotton that a kid has made for you. “I don’t have grandchildren, I hope I will one day, but I can imagine that. If a grandchild or something has made me something I would feel the need to wear it.” Viewers were quick to point out that Ruth actually has step-grandchildren through her estranged husband Eamonn, reports the Mirror.

A viewer pointed out on Twitter: “#Loosewomen I thought you had a granddaughter Ruth.” In response, another tweeted: “They’re Eamonn’s grandkids. I bet she doesn’t see them now.” Another added their voice saying: “In the 14 years Eamon and Ruth were together, Her stepson Declan had two children. She would have known them… Her step-grandchildren. Now, she says she has no grandchildren. Ouch.” Someone else remarked: “Exactly, I thought that was a bit disrespectful of her to say that,”. And another comment from a fan read: “Ruth saying she doesn’t have grandchildren when she has step-grandkids on Eamonn’s side, I thought that was a bit mean.”

Earlier this year, Eamonn and Ruth revealed their decision to part ways after 14 years of marriage. The duo first crossed paths in 1997, tied the knot in 2010, and have a son named Jack together. Eamonn, who has three other children from previous relationships, is also a proud grandad to two grandchildren. Ruth has yet to comment on their split, but Eamonn briefly touched on it while co-hosting GB News with Isabel Webster.

He expressed his gratitude for the support they’ve received, saying: “Just before we move on we’d just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support for both of us is very much appreciated.” Ruth recently took a break from her role on the Loose Women panel, making her return to the ITV show on Monday. Her fellow panellist, Coleen Nolan, couldn’t contain her excitement about Ruth’s return, interrupting the conversation to say: “Wait, wait, wait, before you carry on, can I just say I am so so happy you’re back.” Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV from 12:30pm.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
