Privacy NoticeJanet Street-Porter has candidly shared details about a fiery on-screen clash with Christopher Biggins back in 2020. The outspoken Loose Women star, aged 77, spoke to the Sunday Mail about her upcoming rendezvous with the actor at the Edinburgh Fringe. They’re set to appear together in “Baggage: Janet Street-Porter In Conversation With Christopher Biggins” on August 25. Janet explained that she and Christopher go way back, having graced the small screen together multiple times, but it was their similar headstrong personalities that sparked the heated dispute. She revealed: “I haven’t done a show in Edinburgh since 2003 – that’s more than 20 years ago. I thought I would dip my toe back in the water by doing a one-nighter with Biggins and, who knows, it might inspire me to come back to the fringe.”

“I know Chris well as we have done a lot of TV together, including a Celebrity MasterChef Christmas special. We got on fine until we had to do a round together.”, reports the Express. The veteran journalist went on to say: “We are both really bossy and had a terrible row over a pork wellington. We’ve since been on Pointless together and given we are both talkers, I think it’s going to be a good night.” During that fateful episode of Celebrity MasterChef, Janet and Christopher found themselves divided by a wall, tasked with whipping up two identical pork wellingtons. However, things went south as they struggled to communicate while crafting the herb and mushroom stuffing, leading to Janet’s frustration with the beloved pantomime actor. In a moment of confusion, she asked Christopher about the herbs he was planning to use, only to find out he didn’t have any. The panic was short-lived when he spotted them in a glass right in front of him.

Christopher then boldly declared that he would put “the lot” in, but she quickly shot him down, stating it wasn’t that simple. She confessed to the camera that she’s “always been a boss” and doesn’t appreciate being told what to do. The next step involved stuffing the pork, wrapping it in ham and sealing it in pastry. Christopher queried if Janet was “getting the ham around”. Janet retorted: “Don’t nag. It’s like b****y brain surgery,” prompting judge John Torode to comment on their “thickest puff pastry I have ever seen in my life”. Unfortunately, the duo didn’t manage to recreate the same dish, but Janet triumphed in the festive episode with a seasonal pie, and jam and damson pudding.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
