Privacy NoticeLoose Women’s Denise Welch has opened up about her “life changing” lens replacement surgery, saying she was fed up with having to wear glasses all the time. The 66 year old TV favourite was seen chatting on the popular ITV panel show with Kaye Adams, Myleene Klass and Nadia Sawalha when she spilled the beans on her recent eye operation. Before diving into the daily topics of discussion, Denise couldn’t wait to share her experience, reports the Mirror. Revealing her struggles with specs, Denise said that she was tired of constantly having to wear her signature black frames and frequently fighting to keep them smudge-free. Opening up about the surgery, she admitted: “I’ve had lens replacement surgery and I can honestly say, it’s freaking me out a bit!” Denise explained how now she can see things clearly without her glasses, even pointing out: “Normally the audience is a blur to me from here unless I put my glasses on. I can see the autocue,” raving, “It’s unbelievable!”

Getting into the nitty-gritty of her surgical journey and praising her medical team, Denise continued: “He talked me through it, he told me if I was losing an eyelash because he said back in the day they’d cut off all your eye lashes off and shave your eyebrows because of infection. So I can’t wear eye makeup for two weeks. But as I say, if you’re thinking of having it, have it.” Following a peculiar “Eww, sorry!” from Denise post-explanation, her co-host Kaye jokingly notified the audience that they need to be on their best behaviour since Denise can now see everyone in crystal clear detail. Loose Women’s very own Denise has made headlines this week, opening up about her terrifying experience with fraudsters. The actress, famed for her stint on Corrie, appeared on Good Morning Britain to discuss the details of the scam that tricked her into giving away her bank details.

Detailing the distressing event in which she thought she was liaising with her bank, Denise recalled: “I went out, took the phone call and they said, it’s the fraud squad. They said there was some fraudulent activity going on with your card, and we want to put a stop to it.” Denise continued by sharing how convincing the scam was, thinking she was in direct contact with her bank’s fraud team: “And I had absolutely zero doubt that I was talking to the fraud department from my bank because it had come up under the headline of Barclays that I had put into my phone.” It was during this call that she unwittingly provided the fraudsters with her precious banking information, including her card’s pin number. The plot thickened the next day when Denise mentioned the call to her husband, who was dumbfounded by the revelation. She confessed: “Now, even I know that you don’t give your pin away, but because I was talking to the fraud department at Barclays, I did. And the next day, I mentioned this to my husband, who went absolutely spare.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
