Privacy Notice Mandy Dingle is set to tie the knot to her one true love, Paddy Kirk, in Emmerdale, but disaster looms in the run up to the wedding day with Mandy’s saucy side hustle set to be exposed. But when it comes to the day of the ceremony, Mandy is in her dress and ready to go and Lisa Riley reveals a few secrets about the fairytale gown. “The laugh we had with those crystal sequins, they were everywhere!” she exclaims. “I literally brought them home in my bra, in my knickers, they were all over the house. And Al was going ‘where have all these sequins come from?’” “Everywhere I went, I sparkled, so, it’s incredible. I can’t thank Val [Emmerdale’s in-house dressmaker] enough, she’s a genius.”

Lisa continues to explain that everything was planned around the dress. “With the makeup, we wanted to move with the times, so we looked at TikTokers and we’ve emulated the sequins and iridescence with the look. Mandy has a beautiful crown and I’ve got more hair than any race horse. “The best part for me was that when we started filming, I was in stilettos and they were killing me. But we realised that to keep the height, I just needed to wear Buffalo Spice Girl trainers. So I didn’t have to wear the stilettos at all! Even for the photoshoots, I’m in the trainers.” “The best reaction to the dress was by lovely Bella (James) who plays Eve Dingle. She said ‘you look like a fairytale princess’ and that was exactly what we wanted. “It’s not a dress I would have, no!” confesses Lisa, who is engaged to her long-term partner, Al. “But it’s so Mandy Dingle.”
Mandy’s findom hustle is exposed just before her wedding
Mandy and Paddy (played by Dominic Brunt) have been an on again, off again couple for years. But Lisa believes the pair were always destined to be together. “When I came back to the show six years ago, it was inevitable that Mandy and Paddy would get back together. They are best friends and soulmates, he loves her mayhem. She can be whacky, but he just smiles at Mandy and goes ‘well, that’s my girl’.” The lead-up to the ceremony has been relatively smooth, but days before the wedding and it’s all put in jeopardy. Mandy’s busy conducting her new side hustle of a financial dominatrix, where she humiliates men for money in a bid to get herself out of debt, when she’s found out by none other than her husband-to-be’s father, Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards).
Mandy is emotional on her wedding day as she reunites with Vinny
“When he finds out, Bear wants to tell Paddy,” says Lisa. “And Mandy’s concerned about Padd’s reaction. There’s a big lack of understanding of what the content is because when you hear the word ‘dominatrix’, that can be misconstrued. “Honestly, I respect Mandy for it. It’s a real girl power move and the reason Mandy is doing this is so she and Paddy can have their honeymoon to Venice that they had 25 years ago, which was one of the best times of their lives. Mandy Dingle is a survivor and this is her surviving at whatever the cost.” When the big day arrives, Mandy is still hoping Bear has stayed quiet not realising he’s revealed her dominatrix alter ego to Paddy. Unsurprisingly, Paddy declares he doesn’t want to marry Mandy, and it’s up to best mate Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), to try and change his mind.Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
